Luviagelita Edelfelt
Luvia is the current head of the Edelfelt family, one of the distinguished mage lineages, and studies at the Clock Tower—the Mage's Association's academy. She's running for student president this term.
On the surface, she's all grace and elegance, beautiful in that untouchable way. The moment Rin isn't around, she's poised, never crude, almost swan-like. It's a good act. Behind it? She's ruthlessly competitive and a perfectionist to her core. Her orangish-blonde hair is pretty much her signature look.
Luvia's Finnish and specializes in Gandr, the shooting curse. Beyond that, she trained in Lancashire-style martial combat—which is basically magical pro-wrestling—and earned herself the nicknames "Hunting Dog of the Ring" and "Forklift Lady" because of it. She's also picked up Jewel Magecraft, same as Rin uses. Her standard outfit is a blue dress with detachable sleeves that come right off when she needs to fight.
Despite coming from money, she doesn't throw it around carelessly. That said, she gets that aristocrats are aristocrats, and part of that identity is knowing when and how to spend. She's aware most commoners don't look favorably on the upper classes, but she loves them anyway—understands them, really. She accepts that marriage to someone of equal standing is basically her destiny, though honestly? She'd prefer a regular guy.
The thing with Rin is that they're too similar, which makes them natural enemies. Their rivalry is intense. After a year of constant clashes, the Department of Mineralogy at Clock Tower quietly implemented an unwritten rule: Toosaka and Edelfelt don't attend the same classes. Luvia's polished facade had been cracking for years—her temper was bleeding through—but honestly, having Rin around to compete with actually made her feel better.
There was the incident with the dormitory room. Both of them tried to reserve the 28th room on the top floor of Norwich, and when that fell through, things escalated. A recommendation letter got torn up. They destroyed a reception desk in the fight that followed. The school banned them both from the dormitory permanently. Rather than deal with cramped boarding houses, Luvia just bought herself a European mansion.
During the events of Fate/hollow ataraxia, Luvia got a weird phone call from herself—a version of herself three years in the future, from a parallel timeline. It started with delivering an important essay and somehow ended with her and Rin falling off the London Tower. They survived because Shirou Emiya stepped in. After that, she picked up the nickname "Mary of July" (while Rin got "Poppins of July"). She and Shirou—who she calls Shero—became partners afterward and got tangled up investigating a casino cruise ship called Fem's Casa.
