Birth Place: Chiba Prefecture, Japan
Minami Shinoda originally trained as a dancer with dreams of becoming a musical actress, but her height of 147 cm kept limiting the roles available to her. She pivoted to voice acting specifically to break free from those physical constraints—a smart move that opened up way more opportunities.
She studied at the Nihon Narration Engi Kenkyuujo academy during high school and landed her first gig hosting the AniLove! Gacha Gacha radio program alongside Nanaka Suwa and Risa Kuriyama. After that show wrapped, she joined VIMS in spring 2013. She stayed with the agency until September 1, 2021, and has been freelance ever since.
Her actual seiyuu debut came in February 2014 playing Haru Kasukabe, the lead character in the mobile game Tokyo 7th Sisters. Just a couple months later in April, she appeared in the anime Isshuukan Friends, though only as a minor unnamed role.
