Ibuki Kido got the idea to become a voice actress in fourth grade after watching Nana Mizuki voice Utau Hoshina in Shugo Chara! She started reading manga aloud and recording herself, which turned a passing interest into something more serious.
Her first real shot came in 2010 when she won the Koe Tamago! audition through Tensai TV-kun MAX. She voiced Keiko in the short anime Anime jan!, then made it to the finals of the 36th HoriPro Talent Scout Caravan and signed with them.
After moving to Tokyo in early 2012, Kido started her voice acting training in earnest, debuting with a minor role in Amagami SS+ Plus. Later that year she landed the lead in Oniichan dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne!, which gave her some visibility. In 2014, she teamed up with fellow seiyuu Erii Yamazaki to form the anisong duo every♥ing!
She announced her marriage on November 14, 2024.
