Katou Itazura
A former star pupil under Doppo Orochi who eventually bailed on the dojo, convinced that Doppo's training methods were holding him back. He spent years traveling the world, testing himself against different fighting styles and opponents. When word reached him about the Underground tournaments, he made his way back to Japan—curious enough (or arrogant enough) to see what all the fuss was about.
Katou's got an ego on him, no question. He comes across as cocky and self-assured, which makes him an easy target for ribbing from just about everyone—Doppo, Katsumi, Tokugawa, and especially Baki. They don't hesitate to knock him down a peg or two. But despite all that bravado and his dismissal of Doppo's methods, there's something genuine underneath. Fans often note that he actually respects Doppo deeply and cares about him more than his attitude lets on. It's the classic tough-guy cover for real admiration.
