Megumi grew up in a musical household—her father is Japanese and her mother is Filipino—and was drawn to singing from an early age. She entered the Self Stardust Promotion contest in 2003 and made it through, signing with the agency.
Her big break came in 2007 when she won an audition at Victor Entertainment and landed the role of Ranka Lee in Macross Frontier. Since then, she's become best known for her voice work across multiple projects: she's the voice behind the Vocaloid Megpoid, and has voiced several characters in Kantai Collection, including the submarines I-58 "Goya" and I-168 "Imuya," plus the heavy cruiser Kinugasa.
