She's best known in Japan as a charming voice actress who wears glasses—and interestingly, plenty of female fans followed suit with their own eyewear after seeing the characters she's voiced. Her nickname is 舞太 (Maita), which came about somewhat by accident: she wanted to use "mai" for a mail registration but ended up with "maita" instead, and it stuck.
For adult work, she goes by the stage name Mitsu Anzu.
On January 21, 2007, she announced a slight rebrand: changing her stage name from 門脇 舞 to 門脇 舞以—same pronunciation, different kanji. In September 2009, she dealt with a troubling incident when someone sent threatening mail; the person was eventually arrested.
