Peter was born in New York in 1963 but grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State in 1989, he worked as a professional cameraman around Michigan before eventually making the move to Los Angeles to chase his dream of acting.
He's best known as a voice actor, particularly in anime dubbing, where he built a solid reputation. But there's more to his career than that. He earned a Garland Award nomination for his stage work in Glengarry, Glen Ross and is an award-winning still photographer. On the commercial side, he's appeared in spots for major companies like Allstate, Toyota, Sears, and Papa John's. He also became an accredited Foley artist and worked on one of Michael Clarke Duncan's final films.
Around 2009, Peter stepped back from anime dubbing. His last notable voice roles included reprising Dominic in the Eureka Seven films (Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers and the second Hi-Evolution movie) and additional voices for Samurai Warriors 3. Since then, he's largely stayed out of the spotlight, partly due to a small-cell carcinoma diagnosis. He's spent recent years focused on fighting the disease.
