Since 1986, he's been working as a voice actor and commentator for German TV, handling everything from series to commercials. He then studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York starting in 1996, where he trained in acting, directing, and screenwriting, graduating in 1995.
He's best known in German dubbing for a long list of anime roles. His major voice work includes Inuyasha in Inuyasha, Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask and Umino in Sailor Moon, Lee Sampson in Cowboy Bebop, Clay in Candidate for Goddess, young Happosai in Ranma ½, and Haruto Sakaki in Witch Hunter Robin. He also voiced Zangulus in Slayers, took on various smaller roles in Pokémon, and did voice work for D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers as D'Artagnan and Princess Strawberry as Prince Percy.
