Hidekatsu Shibata is a Japanese voice actor and narrator based in Tokyo, affiliated with Aoni Production. He's from Asakusa and went to Azabu High School, where he was classmates with future prime minister Yasuo Fukuda. He's married to voice actress Akiko Sekine.
Shibata's had a massive career spanning decades. He's best known for voicing major antagonists and authority figures—Baron Ashura in Mazinger Z, Kenzo Kabuto in Great Mazinger, and the intimidating Führer King Bradley in both Fullmetal Alchemist series. He also voices Monkey D. Dragon, the Revolutionary leader in One Piece, and the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi in Naruto. Fans often remember him as the narrator in Fairy Tail and for voicing Igneel, the fire dragon. Earlier roles include Count Mecha in Galaxy Express 999 and General Shadow in Kamen Rider Stronger.
