Minami Takayama is best known as the female vocalist of TWO-MIX, the musical duo that defined a generation of anime fans. She's also the original voice of Conan Edogawa in Case Closed (Detective Conan)—the character that made her a household name in Japan.
Her personal life drew serious attention in the mid-2000s when she got engaged to Gosho Aoyama, the manga creator behind Case Closed and therefore the man who created her most iconic role. They married on May 5, 2005, which happened to be her birthday. The marriage was short-lived, though—they divorced after two and a half years in December 2007.
