Mikako Komatsu started out as an idol in the group Imouto after winning an audition for Fujii Takashi no All Night Nippon R. She left the group in 2007 and eventually transitioned into acting. She's been with Hirata Office since signing with them in 2009, having previously worked under Yoshimoto Creative Agency.
She's a devoted Mai Kuraki fan. In May 2020, she announced she'd married fellow voice actor Tomoaki Maeno.
